The Tigers completed a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies with an 8-1 victory on Sunday, Sept. 13. Jackson Jobe tossed 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball with a career-high eight strikeouts in the deepest start of his Major League career. Riley Greene hit an opposite-field two-run homer in the first inning off Colorado starter Gabriel Hughes and added an RBI single in the fourth. Spencer Torkelson hit his 23rd home run of the season in the fifth.

The Tigers won their fourth straight game and completed a 5-1 homestand, outscoring Colorado 25-10 over three games. Kevin McGonigle hit an eight-pitch at-bat into a two-run triple off the top of the fence in right-center in the second inning. The Tigers worked Hughes for 70 pitches over two innings. Jobe, in his seventh start back from 2025 Tommy John surgery, gave up only a first-inning solo homer to Adael Amador and two other hits, leaving to a standing ovation.

Greene's 20th homer makes it three straight seasons reaching that mark. He is the first Tiger since J.D. Martinez (2014-2016) to produce at least 30 doubles, 20 homers and 68 RBIs in three straight seasons. Since coming off the injured list on Sept. 1, Greene is 17-for-48 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 11 games. The Tigers improved to 70-79, while the Rockies fell to 55-94.
