The story

EA Sports is bringing Madden NFL 27 to Apple Arcade on August 6, marking the franchise's debut on the subscription service. The game will be available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. According to Apple Insider, this marks the series' return to Mac after a 19-year absence, with the last Mac version being NFL Madden 08 in 2007. The full Madden NFL 27 release arrives on PC and console on August 13.

Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition includes Franchise and Quick Play modes, all 32 NFL teams, and weekly roster updates based on real NFL performances. The game supports both touchscreen and controller input. Franchise mode features a weekly story engine that presents new challenges and narratives throughout the season. EA says an International Franchise mode will let players lead their team in a global tournament at stadiums outside the U.S. Madden Ultimate Team is not included, as Apple Arcade games cannot have microtransactions or ads.

Apple Arcade costs $6.99 per month by itself or is included in Apple One, which bundles other Apple subscriptions for $19.95 per month or more depending on the tier. Along with Madden, Retro Bowl College+ launches on Apple Arcade on August 6, and NFL Retro Bowl '27 arrives September 3 with a new Gauntlet Mode. NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Football Manager 26 Touch, and other titles are also available on the service.
