Honor revealed its upcoming Magic 9 Pro Max smartphone at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, marking the first time consumers have seen the device. The phone was shown in moss green and features ARRI's logo on the back by its cameras. Honor announced it will continue its partnership with ARRI for the Magic 9 Pro Max, bringing cinematic features similar to those found on the company's Robot Phone.

The Magic 9 Pro Max will debut in China on September 28. The device features ARRI LogC3 to help preserve highlights and shadows for post-production, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 for a broader color space, and ARRI Looks for controlled cinematic color styles. The lens layout follows the design language of an ARRI cinema camera.

Honor was the official imaging strategic partner of the international promotion program for Chinese-language films at Venice this year. The company also showcased its Robot Phone at the festival, which features an automatic gimbal and was developed through collaboration between the Shenzhen-headquartered Honor and Munich-based camera and lens maker ARRI. The Robot Phone previously generated buzz at Cannes in May and in Shanghai in June.
